Even now when I watch it and know the twist, I still feel sympathetic for the character?

So, truth be told, I struggled with gender dysmorphia throughout my life so even when I saw this movie as a kid it sort of bothered me because despite the fact Einhorn is clearly a dangerous individual, I kind of idolized the character? I admit I was a bit dumb and didn't realize it was simply an actress pretending to be a transwoman when I was younger, but either way the idea that someone could change their sex to the point basically no one could tell fascinated me. A pretty generic happy ending.īut speaking of the ending-not the movie's actual ending where Ace beats up a mascot, but the ending of the climax-I still don't know what to think of it even after all these years.

Well, in response to the video, I'll quickly say that he gives the movie a bit too much credit-while it does sort of feel "grounded" than a lot of modern comedies, it still has a rather cookie-cutter plot and he overlooks the fact that Ace Ventura isn't necessarily an outsider, but hooks up with every major female character he comes across and even gets the girl in the end more or less. This video doesn't really focus on the ending, but it made me want to watch Ace Ventura. This video popped up today in my YouTube Rec's:
